In order to get admission into Australian universities, students need to obtain student visa. Student visa holders are eligible to move in Australia and stay there for the complete period of the academic course.

As per the rules, students from nationality other than Australian can not commence part time courses in Australia. Students are also supposed to leave the country once the course is completed.

There are few procedures to be followed while applying for student visa. The first procedure is to fill up the application form which can be obtained from the Australian High Commission or the official High Commission Website.

While submitting the application form, one is also required to submit the stated application fee payable in name of Australian High Commission. The next step is of Preliminary Visa Assessment also called as PVA. In this step, application is thoroughly assessed on the basis of evidence of enrolment, bona fides and adequate financial resources.

In evidence of enrolment, applying student is required to be admitted for enrolment. This acceptance is done by Government registered Australian education institution which consequently is verified from the particular Australian institution. This verification and acceptance is also known as Letter of Offer.

Bona fide assessment procedure checks the credibility of the applicant and his visa authenticity. Credibility assessment is done on the basis of applicant’s academic performance, his or her English language proficiency and finally compliance with visa rules and regulations.

Adequate financial resources imply applicant’s capability to pay course fee and staying cost in Australia which includes many variable expenses.

Once applicant meets the PVA conditions, he or she has to deposit course fee followed by medical examination.

It is also recommended to consider four to six weeks time duration for the complete procedure of application procedure.

Apart from these, few other issues which are focussed upon are members of the family unit who may accompany student and visa’s validity for re-entering into Australia
